I download movies, and some of them come with a separate
subtitle file.

How do I add these subtitles to the Nero burning operation?

Please help, PJ

You should be able to download the subtitle file and then burn it with Nero.
For the subtitle file to work, it must be in the same directory as the movie
and have exactly the same name as the movie except with the extension srt
(usually) instead of the movie extension (avi or whatever).
And I do mean exactly; the slightest variation and it won't work.

This works for me, except I do it occasionally with TV Shows, tho I
sometimes download movies but not often.

Thank you. I have done this but the "Nero Vision 5" refuses to accept
the subtitle file. The subtitle file works OK in the view-only
program "VLC Media Player". Is theresome other trick I can try?

What are you actually trying to do here, are you converting avi files to
DVD?

If you're only burning avi files to a disc you only need to create a data
disc, just add the avi and srt(or idx or whatever) to the data disc and
burn, the dvd player/software will sort ot the rest...

As another poster, namely gxs, has replied:
You need to make a "data disc" for both movie & subtitle files, and not
another program such as a video disc.

I am using a truncated free Nero 9 program; it does all I want.
I don't know whether Nero is still providing it free.
I downloaded Nero 9 when I upgraded to Vista & lost my previous Nero
version.

Thanks, I did as you said and it works. I was hoping to combine the
subtitles with the video to make a normal DVD disk.

PS: Do you know of any site which has a library of subtitles in
English for foreign movies, especially the rarer types.

- Thanks, I did as you said and it works.
You're welcome, and I am delighted that "it works".

I don't know how you can do this, but why do you want to do this?
The data disc plays like "a normal DVD disk".
Soimetimes I don't bother making a disc as I can play the show on my Plasma
TV which is connected to the computer.

- PS: Do you know of any site which has a library of subtitles in

Unfortunately, no.
I have trouble getting English subtitles for American TV shows.
Sometimes I find I have downloaded Italian or French subtitles etc instead
of the English one I wanted.

I recently bookmarked "Addic7ed.com", but have not yet investigated it yet.
I forget or can't find atm previous sites I have used.

If you can get into the mysteries of ifoedit, you can add subtitle files.
