DVDPACIFIC rejected my VISA Debit card 8 times, saying it couldn't
process the order and to put the card details in again.. the funny
thing is the charges appeared on my building society statement about
10 mins after trying to use DVDPACIFIC. I contacted them and they took
the charges off.. the funny thing was it never produced a completed
order - this was two weeks ago.. I've written to DVDPACIFIC twice
since then to see if they've fixed the problem and kinda get a generic
response say give us more time to see what the problem is - obviously
copied both times.. Has anyone else been having problems? I'm
wondering if I wait another month if I'll get the same generic
response - the service isn't really good enough.. NewcastleBloy

Fuck em!! New Mob running dvdpacific now, no connection to the previous
owners, they have probably wacked up the prices, you having issues with your
visa debit card is even more of a reason to give them the flick, no matter
how they used to be, they are obviously no longer worthwhile using.
I don't use them myself anymore, there are better alternatives out there.

The mail option for priority international mail is gone.
Province=State.
prices don't seem too bad.
mail works out cheaper.
I really don't know how to find an alternative, I've tried.

What's wrong with Amazon.com. as an alternative?

Yes, Amazon's postal rates are shocking. I just want to use DVDPACIFIC but
my debit VISA card keeps getting rejected then billed, then charges are
withdrawn. I've emailed DVDPACIFIC approx 5 times, the last three times
they responded (with the last two times automated type messages). They
haven't answered my last two emails, which makes me think they're ignoring
me. I've signed up to a PAYPAL account, but they want bank account details
and all (not really comfortable). I've done hundreds of transactions since
2001 and this has been the only merchant that won't accept me.. I'm after
a DVD and it's $11 less than DeepDiscount, and heaps cheaper than Amazon,
in fact all the DVDs I've checked out are heaps cheaper, yet I can't use
their sites because their system keeps rejecting my debit card - I've
contacting my building society, PAYPAL said there was nothing wrong with
my card, what the hell is wrong with DVDPACIFIC? My friend uses his credit
card and is up to his fourth order with them - he's been very happy with
service and delivery, and above all price.. but I can't use them?????? Is
it possible to write to the manager to express my annoyance?

I'm not sure about accessing my account on the new DVDPacific, I do the
thing of checking my order number on that page that comes up, but it
never works. They do email to say it's been sent which is something.

I don't know why you are bothering to use this mob, still?
Even if the postage is dearer, I would use amazon, either US or UK.
I have used amazon.uk, and have been happy with everything(also used US
amazon), If you are having hassels with a mob with new management etc,
it is probably time to move on and find someone else to spend your hard
earned with, it sounds like it is not worth the hassel at the moment
using dvdpacific.

Well, the PAYPAL option will work.. I will endeavour to get the debit card
problem sorted. All transactions were reversed, though I'm convinced it
was an automatic process and none done manually. I use a combination of
stores and have had great service from Amazon.co.uk, but I find the
American store too dear, and when I'm saving $15 *AUD* for one single disc
over Amazon's prize, I'd be crazy not to look elsewhere, my friend has
done two orders through the new Pacific and says he got them in a timely
fashion and they arrived fine. My issue is with a payment glitch in their
system, but now I've overcome that investing in a PAYPAL account (until I
can get the problem fixed), there really isn't a problem and I save mega
bucks on my DVDs (while certain people here get ripped off)

Well, so much for spending 3 days getting the PAYPAL account authorised -
DVDPACIFIC doesn't receive PAYPAL transactions for non-US Paypal account
holders, so I did a price comparison check using booko.com.au and found
out Amazon had the same DVD $8 (AUD) more than DVDPACIFIC. I then wrote
Pacific a stinking email I was so pissed off they couldn't get their
systems in order... they actually wrote back saying they were having
trouble with their systems, so I do give them credit for that, but
basically, there was no more information than 3 weeks ago - nothing to
really re-assure me they could get it right, or offering a solution to the
problem, saying I should check with my bank (which I've done twice). The
non-US Paypal was the thing that really upset me, here I was under the
belief that PAYPAL was offered to all at their site, and it was a solution
to the problem I was experiencing, but NO. $8 (AUD) is a hell of a big
saving before anyone chips in I should have only had Amazon in my mind,
first and only.. I have a friend currently using PACIFIC, he's had three
orders, all arrived in a timely and all competitively price with PACIFIC
working out the cheapest.Hopefully I'll get this problem solved, I can't
keep paying top premium at Amazon every single transaction... and I've
found Deepdiscount is almost as dear, if no dearer on many of their
purchases than Amazon.

Are you...ummm...deficient? Why are you still bothering? To save a few
bucks per disc - how much is your time worth per hour and how much time
have you already spent on this? (time that you'll never ever get back)
Wait until they get their act together and go elsewhere in the mean
time, or simply just go elsewhere!

There're plenty of places that sell DVDs new and second-hand in region
1-4 that are cheaper than Amazon. CDwow does free shipping on all orders
and I have yet to have an issue with them. I order whatever region
version is cheapest as long as it has all the features I want (if I want
extras that weren't released in region 4 I'll order region 1). I also
use a variety of new DVD retailers on eBay as well as second hand places
like SecondSpin (if I want region 1).

CD-WOW also used more compact packaging than other on-line ordering
places that allowed a DVD in conventional plastic case to fit in a
medium-size PO box.

Very quick delivery of the BBC/Royal Shakespeare Company "Hamlet"
starring David Tennant and Patrick Stewart.

I was the original poster who put in a complaint here and various places
about DVDPACIFIC. I tried them again today, and my order seems to have got
through to processing stage - my friend swears by them and has had no
problems with delivery. I've saved over $11 (AUD) on the disc I ordered
and will see how long they take and what service I get, before placing
more orders with them.
